HA5 Task 1 - The Purpose of Concept Art

The Purpose of Concept Art
Drawing concept art is one of the first stages of creating a game. It is needed to share ideas between the artists and concept designers, and help them get an overall view of their work. It's important for all art work to be reviewed to make sure it all matches the intended style of the game, and what the characters were described as. When a certain design has been chosen, they are drawn bigger, and in more detail, as to get the idea across better. Once concept art of characters have been 'completed', it is used by 3D modelers to create the characters digitally. The art can also be sent to marketing to be put on the front cover of the game, magazines, etc. for advertising the game.
